About me
I am a Greek-American author and a primary care nurse practitioner. My love for writing was born in my elementary school years, where I was put into the “creative learning” classroom with open minded teachers who breathed confidence into me. High school was honors biology and English, where I again felt challenged by teachers who encouraged writing and scientific inquiry. It was there that I found joy in expressing myself both creatively as well as analytically. I chose the path of nursing in college (Kent State University, Kent, Ohio) and went on to obtain two master’s degrees in Maternal Child nursing as a clinical Nurse Specialist and adult primary care as a Nurse Practitioner. While in school, I requested that the KSU College of Nursing allow me to do a rotation with the Writer-in-Residence in the English department so I could explore my desire to write for children, once again combining this part of me that was both creative and analytical. I worked with Zee Edgell.
I write in the pre-dawn hours, I watch the sunrise and then head to work in the rural town of Wooster, Ohio where I work within the practice of a comprehensive internal medicine group. My main goal is to help others. I am fortunate to be able to do this every day at work. I hope to do this in my writing, as well.
Cooking is also my happy place. Preparing recipes my mother taught me and my three sisters how to make preserves the memory of my parents and grandparents as I recall the lessons on cooking and the many meals we shared together with our family and extended families.
My books are available on Ingram Sparks, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble.
